Day 3: Boat Trip to Mt Athos

Boarded the MV St. Nicholas at Ouranoupoli for a sea view of some 20 monasteries on the Mt Athos peninsular from which women have been banned since 1060 by edict of Constantine Monomachos.

Mt. Athos Priest who visited boat to bless icon leaving by motor launch to return to his monastery. Return to Ouranoupoli.

The boat trip following the Mt. Athos coastline was fascinating. The coast is spectacular and I could not but marvel at men's ingenuity, building the monasteries in such inaccessible positions. Finding  seats was a bit of a scramble.
